It doesn't have creepy and weird style which made Mononoke so cool. It lacks the suspense which made Ghost Hunt interesting. Unfortunately, Natsume Yujinchou is probably the weakest addition to be added to that genre ever. Everything basically revolves around a person who interacts and solves various troubles caused by spirits. Natsume Yujinchou is one of those episodic japanese mythology inspired shows, which I have been seeing a lot lately. So, is not as complex or a whole living world as HxH, its also not a psychological and philosophical masterpiece as Gingaa or Monster, it has not great action of compelling characters as One Piece or Dragon Ball, but it makes you FEEL, it makes you want to call your friends and tell them that you value their friendship, and that is awesome. The purity and good intentions of the main character without been stupid or annoying are credible and foremost each experience that he has makes you feel related as if you were in his shoes, and that is great. The series has nothing new to offer, and almost every aspect of it is average although the brilliance of it came in little things that they do pretty well managing to bring out your emotions, without being cheesy or corny. The main thing here is that I sheer tear with almost each episode, and its the first time in 35 years that something like that happens to me. Maybe I am rating it as an 8 because the subtitles from the source I'm using are pretty bad.
